my tip for beginner si s always to take pictures on your desk at night. look for an interesting object, put it on a sheet of paper, wait till its dark outside and use a reading lamp for light. this way you can create astounding pictures without much cost. you can also experiment with reflecting the light by holding a sheet of paper in front of it.

I find you only need 2 or 3 lenses as long as they're good quality. personally I'd like having a macro lens.... oh well

Yea, but they are expensive. I want a f/1.4 and 200mm, ill take a macro too!
